Kudos to Kevin Leininger's, "Bloggers Unjust to Christians"

Tim Goeglein’s admission to plagiarism in a recent edition of the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel garnered much attention in the former White House advisor's home town last week. It was devastating news for those who know Tim and/or share his commitment to conservative and Christian public policy. But Tim’s critics (as a proxy for hatred of other people and things, like President Bush, Karl Rove, Republicans, fill in the blank), were not so devastated. As News-Sentinel veteran reporter Kevin Leininger observes, the fall seemed to serve as the trigger for liberals to sing halleluiah.

Kudos to Mr. Leininger for a well crafted article. Students of the written word will especially appreciate his poignant (and, rest assured, properly referenced) ending. Below is an excerpt, with a link back to the News-Sentinel for the entire article.

One man's plagiarism does not invalidate an entire philosophy.

I come not to praise Tim Goeglein, but to bury some of his critics.

That's from Shakespeare, sort of - just in case Nancy Nall or anybody else wants to accuse me of plagiarism. Goeglein, on the other hand, has committed plagiarism - at least 27 columns in The News-Sentinel. As such, the

Fort Wayne

native and former aide to President Bush is fair game, and even he knows it.

“I bear no ill will against Nancy Nall; what she exposed was my wrongdoing. I am entirely at fault,” Goeglein told me, referring to the former News-Sentinel columnist who exposed his transgressions on her Michigan-based Internet site last week.

But it seems Nall, many of her readers and commentators on other blogs do bear ill will against Goeglein - not only because of what he did, but because they are repelled by things he represents like vampires exposed to a crucifix. (more)
