Four Ways I'm Greening the Luidhardt Estate
My brother-in-law works at Glacier National Park in Montana. He sent me a link to Do Your Part for Climate Friendly Parks a couple of weeks ago. Check it out.
I was happy to find out that I do a pretty good job already meeting their 15 Greening Steps. I already have Energy-Saving appliances, limit my driving (my commute is from my bedroom to the office), use a push mower, keep my thermostat at a reasonable temperature, and have energy-saving windows.
In fact, it looks like I'm more green than Al Gore. I feel really good about myself.
Admittedly, however, I need to do a couple of things better:
- It's time to upgrade my light bulbs. I've got a lot to change anyway. I'll be installing the new Energy-Saving version. I hear they'll save me money too so no complaint here.
- It's time to tune-up the car.
- Unfortunately it looks like I can't purchase any green power in my neighborhood. Those darn Electric Co-Ops!
- I need to recycle more carefully. Republic (my carrier) has a spotty record actually picking up my recycling so I've been sneaking some cardboard into the regular trash. Bad Bad Kurt.

Careful, Kurt. A global warming tax may be placed against you if you don't make those improvements in a timely manner. Oh, and don't forget to inflate your tires! :)
